Written by Kilvington at just seventeen, ‘Strange Attractor’ takes its name from the mathematical concept describing patterns that emerge from seemingly unpredictable systems. Beginning with a shimmering introduction before surging into an exhilarating rush of rhythm and momentum, the track provides a conceptual starting point for an album shaped by the idea that the hidden patterns of a life often only become visible with time.
Though Mek Do & Mend marks Wonky Logic’s debut as a solo artist, Kilvington has spent the past two decades working across the UK’s jazz, electronic and contemporary music scenes, collaborating with artists including Nala Sinephro, Yussef Dayes, Nightmares On Wax, Shabaka Hutchings and Emma-Jean Thackray. He has also worked as musical director with Eddie Chacon, John Carroll Kirby and I.G Culture’s LCSM, scored the documentary Zandra With A Zed and contributed music to A24’s The Smashing Machine.
