Today marks a new chapter for Divine Earth as the renowned alternative artist releases her sophomore EP, LAVENDER. Out now on all streaming platforms, the ethereal project blends britpop-inspired indie anthems with dreamy, introspective lullabies – each track designed to uplift, empower, and celebrate self-expression.
Formerly known as muva of Earth, Divine Earth has long been recognized for her celestial sound, weaving together Afro-spiritual rhythms, atmospheric jazz, and affirmations of healing. Her debut project align with Nature’s Intelligencereceived critical acclaim for its grounding yet transformative energy. With LAVENDER, she embraces a fresh hyperpop direction while staying rooted in her mission: to create music that inspires confidence, connection, and self-love.
Explaining the inspiration behind the title, Divine Earth reflects:
“The EP is called LAVENDER because firstly there is something super sexy and enticing about the way it sounds. I have always had a close relationship with the colour purple growing up, and it was my favourite colour to wear and embrace as a child. LAVENDER celebrates my journey of reconnecting to me, my inner child and the woman I am destined to be.”
Lavender, as both colour and symbol, becomes the heartbeat of the record – representing confidence, sensuality, and the courage to embrace one’s roots.
At the centre of the EP is Like Nina/Misunderstood, a moving homage to Nina Simone’s iconic “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood.” The track channels raw vulnerability while carrying a message of acceptance and freedom.
“This track is inspired by guitars and my love for legendary artists before me who were also misunderstood but never less great. It’s about my love for girls and women, and aligns with my purpose: to write empowering music for people to feel and be inspired.”
She adds that the song doubles as a personal mantra:
“Sometimes I do feel misunderstood, but I wrote this song to soften that self-scrutiny. It’s a poem describing a beautiful person who still feels lost in their mind, but it’s their cue to shake it off and dance. It’s an ode to always being yourself—because no one can do you better than you.
With this project, Divine Earth affirms her evolution as an artist unafraid to transform, while staying deeply connected to her essence. LAVENDER is more than an EP—it’s an invitation to return to oneself, to embrace healing, and to step boldly into becoming.
