Following the success of their 2025 album Tuff Times Never Last and a headline show at O2 Academy Brixton, Kokoroko return with a raw, one-take session at Metropolis Studios. Sharing a never-before-released cover of ‘Express Your Love’.
The London-based afrobeat jazz septet delivers their signature grooves and wide-ranging influences – from 80s Brit-funk and R&B to West African disco – captured live straight to vinyl in their Jack Daniel’s Revive Live session.
This four-track EP also features ‘Higher’ from Get The Message, and highlights from their second album, alongside the aforementioned single, offering a raw, one-take glimpse into the band’s evolving artistry.
Kokoroko: “Cutting live-to-vinyl is kind of like stamping time, you’re capturing this moment that’s not going to happen the same way again. We love vinyl, so it just felt right; doing it in the spirit of some of our favourite records. We’d never played some of these songs like this before, it felt like the perfect way to capture them. We also covered Sweet and Innocent’s ‘Express Your Love’ (such a gorgeous track) and it’s the first time recording Noushy on lead vocals with us. She sounds amazing, and we really wanted to give her that shine.”
Today, the have also announced that 3 of the 4 tracks will be available digitally on the 6th March, pre-save the EP here!
